The Distance Education Council of the IGNOU approved the proposal of the Vidyapeetha to start Distance Education Programme from the year 2003-04 and released a development grant of Rs. 10 lakhs. The following members of the Vidyapeetha were given additional responsibilities for the smooth functioning of the programme.
